Who needs to register

Only people posting ads need an account. Visitors who browse listings or reveal contact details do not need to register and no personal data is collected from them, other than hashed IP addresses used for rate limiting and audit logging.

What we collect from advertisers

When you register as an Individual advertiser, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and password. When you register as a Business advertiser, we additionally collect your business name and create a linked business page (Store) on your behalf. You may optionally provide a WhatsApp number, city, state, and profile photo in your account settings.

Contact details on listings

Advertisers choose which contact details appear on each listing. Phone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, and email addresses are opt-in per listing via Show Phone, Show WhatsApp, and Show Email checkboxes. These fields are never included in initial page HTML. Visitors must click a button to reveal them, and each reveal is rate-limited. Website links are shown directly as they contain no personal contact information.

Contact reveal logging

Each contact reveal is logged in an audit table with the listing ID, contact type revealed, and a SHA-256 hash of the visitor's IP address. Raw IP addresses are never stored. This log is used for abuse detection and rate limiting only.

Business pages

Business accounts have a public business page (Store) at /stores/{slug}. Phone, WhatsApp, and email on business pages are also click-to-reveal; they are not included in initial page HTML.

Data storage

All data is stored on servers in India. We do not sell your data to third parties. Images associated with listings are publicly accessible via their URL while the listing is active.

Account deletion and data retention

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@samaj.cc. Listings associated with a deleted account are removed from public view. Audit log entries (hashed IP only) may be retained for up to 180 days for abuse prevention purposes.
